Nokia in action! At 3GSM event on February, Nokia presents the latest six new products. They are not just new thing on the block, every phone has been equipped with the latest technology enhancement. Just look the new E90, the latest communicator generation and E61i, the enhancement of E61.

The aggressive strategy has to be taken by Nokia. Because the rest competitors are not giving the market willingly. Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Samsung has shown their latest products in the same event. A wise decision to secure Nokia as market leader.

The latest but not so new from Nokia product is E61i. Remaking of business smartphone, E61. According to Nokia excuse that this release is to satisfy users for complete feature.

When I tried my friend’s E61, I would like to give 8 of 10 points for this phone type as it can ease my office activity. Messaging, connectivity and office application are the main feture of Nokia E61. So where are the 2 points? It is the unavailable of camera. Well, for a business needs, camera is something inappropriate to bring in an meeting. I agree for that reason. But, that etiquette  is something rare happen in Indonesia.

They say that the biggest consumer of Nokia is from Indonesia, I am quite sure  the camera thing are Nokia’s strategy to prevent from loosing its potential consumer, me! And the rest people like me.

The new enhancement will be:

1. camera 2 Mega Pixel
2. body size
3. keypad layout
4. navigation
5. external slot for MicroSD

What I like the most are (1) and (3) enhancement.

The (1), as you can see that for people who have big fingers like me would prefer a phone that have button easy to  be press. My last one was (actually I am still using it) Sony Ericsson T610. Just like T610 drawback of using mouse-like controller to navigate is easy to be broken.

The (3), for a simple reason, a camera is indispensable one that missing from day-to-day mobile phone feature.

So, for one who prefer business needs but budget tight, E61i is a perfect solution.

To make sure we know what we buy, E61i drawback will be:

1. Internal memory is reduced to 60 MB from 75 MB

I think most circumstances it will not be a significant drawback.
